![CUESTIONES FUNDAMENTALES: EQUIPO DE ARQUITECTURA]()
A través de esta serie de entrevistas tituladas “Cuestiones Fundamentales”; en A² intentaremos abrir un panorama latinoamericano inédito, donde conoceremos a diversas oficinas y arquitectos que se encuentran en el arranque de su ejercicio profesional y que han despertado nuestro interés al momento de revisar su obra.
Aunque hablar de pensamiento puede ser un tanto incipiente, sí nos atrevemos a decir que estos arquitectos tienen una “manera propia” al momento de enfrentar un encargo y de ahí nuestro interés de conocerlos y conversar con ellos.
Through these series of interviews that we call “Fundamental Questions”; in A² we’ll try to open a unique scene, in which we ‘ll met different studios and architects which are in a starting stage of their professional exercise and have captured our interest at the moment we see into their works.
Though talk of a ‘trend of thought’ could sound a bit earlier, we dare to say that these architects have an ‘own manner’ at the moment of facing an assignment and hence our interest to meet and talk to them.

![TURISMO Y MADERA: CASO 1 - HOTEL PALAFITO DEL MAR]()
El siguiente artículo es la revisión de la obra Palafito del Mar desarrollada por los arquitectos Ortuzar+Gebauer, oficina radicada en la ciudad de Castro, Chiloé. Es en esta ciudad donde la oficina ha centrado su trabajo desarrollando propuestas vinculadas a la vivienda y el turismo principalmente. Palafito del Mar representa un osado y pionero acto de intervenir en los tradicionales barrios de palafito, un sector de códigos absolutamente vernáculos donde predomina la construcción en madera.
Este artículo muestra cómo la arquitectura, través de sus espacios y su trabajo constructivo en madera, logra establecer un vínculo entre turismo y cultura local.
The following article reviews Palafito del Mar building, developed by Otuzar + Gebauer architects, which is a studio based in the city of Castro, Chiloe. Is in this city where the office has centered their work developing housing and tourism facilities. Palafito del Mar represents an audacious and pioneer act, which is to build in the traditional stilt neighborhoods, a place with local codes where the wood is the main material.
This article shows how architecture, through their spaces and wood constructive techniques, establishes a new connection between tourism and local culture.

The following article intends to establish relations among some recent projects developed in Chile. It tries to demonstrate a common factor that has affected the way to 'think and do' of a small group of architects which are behind these architecture projects. This works, despite of having a common considerations on its origins, they are very far from an intensional attempt to promote or to postule a theory by their own.

Este texto fue escrito como introducción a la arquitectura del sur de Chile para el libro "Architectual Guide - Chile" el año 2016 para la editorial DOM Publishers, Berlin. El texto hace un recorrido histórico escogiendo ciertos hitos relevantes desde la mirada arquitectónica sobre aquellos aspectos que han dado un carácter o han forjado una imagen asociada al sur, ya sea desde su característico paisaje, sus construcciones vernáculas o bien aquellas obras que con el paso de los años se han transformado en objeto de veneración y estudio.
This article was written as an introduction to the architecture of southern Chile for the “Architectural Guide - Chile” in 2016 for DOM Publishers in Berlin. The text develops an historic view choosing some important events in the architecture field looking at those aspects that have given a character or have forged an image associated with the south, either from its particular landscape, its vernacular constructions or through those buildings that over the years have become cases of study and veneration.
